Nothing to tell about Tawau. Just want to share there pics i was taken when i had a vacation there. KL-Tawau-KK-KL route. Spent 2 nites there. My original plan was to meet my friend there unfortunately she not off yet and still at Lahad Datu. Mission to eat Mee Tauhu succeeded and had great dinner with delicious seafood.
Nowhere we went here. Quite boring because this town close early at 7.00pm. Tawau quite famous because it's a pit stop to Semporna-Sipadan Island. If u like adventure, u can drive to Gua Madai and do some trekking in the cave. Near Gua Madai, there located Madai Waterfall. I've been there during my semester break 2009.
Tourist attraction nearby is Teck Guan Cocoa Museum. It's a chocolate museum and farm but entrance fees too expensive so, we didn't go there. Balung Eco Resort located 30 minutes from Tawau town. There has waterfall and recreational attraction.
Limited places to go because location is far and need transport to go there. U have choices to use public transport or rent car. This is family trip and I bring my parents so, as older they don't get excited to explore new places with adventurous way. I did some shopping at Pasar Gantung near to oir hotel. Last day here, I bought a dozen of brooch at Kedai Borong Kristal in front of our hotel.
Went to airport and we stuck there coz flight delay. GOD! too boring to wait tilll night >_<
